Starting at Tim River Access Point on Algonquin's west side, paddle east through meandering rivers and intimate lakes toward Longbow Lake. This is one of Algonquin's premier wildlife-watching routes. Moose sightings are abundant, particularly in early summer when they frequent shorelines. The beaver-dam-filled Tim River requires patience and occasional liftovers, but the flat water and pristine scenery reward paddlers seeking solitude away from the Highway 60 corridor. This 16 km route takes 2-3 days; allow extra time for the meandering river pace and wildlife viewing. Access is straightforward from the Kearney area.
