The lower section of the Du Loup River runs through the agricultural lowlands near Louiseville. It flows through fertile farmland with opportunities to spot waterfowl and beavers. The river meanders and is accessible from late spring through fall. Several put-in points exist along rural roads, and the section connects to the historic mouth at Lac Saint-Pierre.
