The Mitchinamécus River offers an ideal multi-day canoe-camping experience for beginners with good judgment who can portage difficult sections. This 108-kilometer journey features mostly calm water and R1-2 rapids, with two notable waterfalls including the 5-meter Connor Falls requiring careful portaging. The river flows through pristine Laurentian wilderness in the ZEC Mitchinamécus, passing through the massive 36-kilometer Mitchinamécus Reservoir with its numerous sandy beaches and camping opportunities.
