The Pouliot River, a tributary of the Chaudière River system, offers challenging whitewater with 6 rapids ranging from R1 to intense R3-4 sections including Class III(4/5) features. This technical waterway flows through the Appalachian foothills, demanding solid intermediate to advanced paddling skills. The river cuts through mixed forest terrain typical of the Chaudière-Appalaches region with granite outcrops and steep-sided valleys. Best paddled during spring runoff from April through early June, this route provides an intense day of whitewater in a relatively compact section with good access from regional roads.
