About

The Coucou River is a 14 km tributary of the Gatineau River offering moderate whitewater paddling through the Outaouais region. Featuring 11 rapids from Class I-IV with 3 portages and 4 established campsites, this route provides a good balance of technical challenge and wilderness experience. The river flows through mixed boreal forest with opportunities for wildlife viewing and fishing. Access is from the upper reaches near Dépôt-Échouani, ending at the Gatineau River junction, over a 2-3 day trip.
