The Rivière Ignace offers a scenic lake-and-river circuit from Lac Gagamo to Lac Désert through the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve system. With 8 rapids ranging from R1-R4 difficulty, plus some S3-S4 sections, and only 1 portage with 6 campsites, this route provides an accessible wilderness experience. The paddling connects several pristine lakes including Lac Croche and Lac Ignace, offering excellent fishing and wildlife viewing in classic Canadian Shield country. The route is well-maintained as part of the extensive La Vérendrye canoe route network with good access and logistics support.
